The Vandalia Police Department and Chief Jeff Ray were honored before Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting for helping to save a Vandalia woman’s life. Back on the evening of September 16th–after a Vandalia City Council meeting–Chief Ray and the Vandalia PD received the call of a female that had collapsed on the Vandalia High School track and was unresponsive. And, that woman was Laura Dossett. Mayor Rick Gottman said he saw the body cam footage of the incident and the work to save Mrs. Dossett’s life with CPR performed by Chief Ray. Dr. Brian Dossett thanked the Vandalia Police Department for their work in helping to save Mrs. Dossett’s life. Several members of the Dossett family along with members of Chief Ray’s family and Vandalia Police Officers were on hand for the short ceremony.
