The Vandalia Bicentennial Celebration will get underway with events today and throughout the weekend. For today, there will be a petting zoo at City Hall from 1 pm to 7 pm, the Looking for Lincoln Walking Tour going on from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. Then, in connection with the Grande Levee at the Statehouse lawn, there will be the community band from 5 to 5:30 and then the Air Force Brass Bank from 6 pm to 8 pm tonight. There will be a full day and night of events on Saturday, and LaTisha Paslay talks about the Parade on Saturday at 2 pm in downtown Vandalia.
And, right after the parade is over, the community is asked to pack the street for a 2nd attempt at the Community Picture.
There are several events going on throughout the day and night on Saturday.
