Brownstown High School was the first area school to hold graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2019. During the Saturday afternoon ceremony, Jerry Reed of the Brownstown Education Foundation was on hand to present scholarships to three of the graduating seniors. The Kassy Fulk Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Ashlen Richards. Two Edward Durbin Scholarships were awarded, one for a student who will be attending a college or university and one for a student who will be attending a vocational school. Lane “Rocky” Himes was the recipient of the college scholarship while Anthony Lansford received the vocational scholarship. The final scholarship awarded was the Sandra K. Stine Award which goes to a student pursuing a health-related degree or a degree in physical education. This year’s recipient was Lane “Rocky” Himes.
