
For the second time in two years, a local man has appeared on the History Channel show “Forged in Fire.” The show features four blacksmiths competing to make bladed weapons such as knives and swords through a three-round competition. Joshua Nicolaides competed on the February 20 airing of the show which was a President’s Day special. Nicolaides has been blacksmithing for several years and says he was self-taught in the beginning before more recently being mentored by Dustin Rhodes of Shobonier who appeared on the same show back in April 2017.
Audio PlayerWhile his mentor was previously on the show, Nicolaides says he just decided one day to apply for the show and surprised Rhodes with the fact that he was cast on the show.
