Before the cold front gets here today, we do have a chance for severe storms. The National Weather Service in St. Louis has our area in the “slight” category for severe storms. But, that is a bit deceiving as that is often the highest level we reach when severe storms are possible and it’s also the strongest threat area for today. The NWS says that a few strong to severe storms are possible this morning and early afternoon across the region. The primary threats are damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The severe weather threat ends with the passage of a cold front.
