The Vandalia Police Department has a new officer following Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting. Jake Etcheson was sworn in as the newest VPD officer by Vandalia City Clerk Peggy Bowen to open the new business portion of the meeting’s agenda.
Also during the meeting, the council approved a sexual harassment resolution as required by the state and approved the resignation of Joe Cearlock from the Vandalia Lake committee.
