Terry Kent “Rube” Yarbrough, 66, of Vandalia, IL passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Fayette County Hospital.
A Funeral Service for Rube will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia with Rev. Kent “Pee Wee” Denton officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 5:00- 8:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Unity Baptist Church and one hour prior to services on Saturday. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 PM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at the church. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. Terry Kent Yarbrough was born on March 12, 1952 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Darold F. Yarbrough and Elizabeth M. (Binnion) Yarbrough. Rube was a retired Teamster and former owner of Rube’s Package Liquor in Vandalia. He was a member of AINAD Shriners, East St. Louis, IL; Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447; Illinois Licensed Beverage Association (ILBA); Vandalia Shrine Club; and the Tin Lizzie Patrol.
He is survived by his wife, Teena Yarbrough of Vandalia; son, Clint and wife Kim of Ramsey; sisters, Sherry Davis and husband Charles of Effingham, Deanna Cole and husband Danny of Knoxville, TN, Sabrina Tackett and husband Richard of Shobonier, Sue and husband Chad Dunaway of Vandalia; brother, Rick Yarbrough and wife Brenda of Vandalia; and grandchildren, Clay and Brooke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Anthony; and granddaughter, Payge.
