The Vandalia Police Department is searching for a Mulberry Grove man in connection with a robbery incident at the Murphy USA gas station on Monday. WKRV-WPMB learned of the incident and contacted the Vandalia Police Department for more information. VPD reports that a female employee at the gas station informed an officer responding to the scene that the suspect, 27-year old Laroi Hall-Bady, whom she was acquainted with had been released from jail earlier in the day following his arrest over the weekend on a failure to appear warrant and had went to the gas station because he wanted to come back to the residence of the female victim. The victim informed police that Hall-Bady had struck her and had taken her keys, phone, wallet and her vehicle by force. The victim also informed the officer that Hall-Bady may have a small-caliber weapon but did not threaten or display a weapon during the process of the crime. The VPD was given information on an area that the suspect was possibly at in the vehicle, but VPD was unable to locate the suspect on Monday and Hall-Bady is now presumed to have left the Vandalia area. VPD is requesting a warrant for his arrest on expected charges of vehicular hi-jacking, robbery, domestic battery, criminal trespass to real property and driving while license is revoked. WKRV-WPMB will update this story as more information is received.
