A large crowd from all around the state of Illinois was on hand for a Education funding and rally in Vandalia, just next to the Vandalia Statehouse on south 4th Street. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Rich Well addressed the crowd with a quote from Abraham Lincoln.
The event was originally scheduled to be held on the grounds of the Vandalia Statehouse, but the state objected to the event being held there. Without some level of a stopgap budget being approved, some schools may run out of funding in short order after the new school year begins, and some would not be able to open at all.
