A few years of hard work fundraising by the Vandalia Elementary School PTO and a few days of hard work putting in the new equipment and there is now a new playground at the Vandalia Elementary School. The new playground was put in over this past weekend with 18 volunteers helping to build 2 new structures—one geared for smaller kids and the other for the older students. As for the cost, the new playground cost a little more than 76 thousand dollars. A grant from Gametime took care of about 36 thousand dollars and then the PTO was able to raise the remainder of the money thru a mixture of fundraising, donations and local grants.
