Although we are not going to see a White Christmas, there could be some other rough weather on the way for the Christmas weekend. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says thunderstorms are likely Wednesday and Wednesday night and some of the storms could be severe on Wednesday afternoon and evening. The NWS says that locally damaging winds and isolated severe storms, even possibly tornadoes, being the primary threat. Then, the National Weather Service adds that we are going to see a prolonged period of rainfall, including some thunderstorms, likely starting Christmas night and continuing thru the holiday weekend and into early next week. The National Weather Service says early estimates of widespread rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches could cause flooding along streams, creeks and rivers.
