
Name: WAYNE S. MUELLER, 69 years old of Altamont, passed away suddenly on Saturday Morning November 7, 2015 at 8:57 AM at his home on Mill Road in Mound Township, near Altamont, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday morning November 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Altamont with the Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiation
Visitation for family and friendswill be conducted from 4:00–8:00pm on Tuesday November 10, 2015
at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 203 East Division Street, Altamont and again for one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.
Christian Burial Rites will be at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
Wayne Stuart Mueller was born into the Christian family of Elmer and Alma Mueller, the youngest of four siblings, on May 15, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In 1954 the family moved to Altamont where his father accepted a teacher call to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church School. Wayne confirmed his faith at the Bethlehem and graduated from the parochial school and then attended and graduated with the class of 1964 from Altamont Community High School. While in school Wayne was active in numerous activities but was very proud to be a member of the ACHS track team as well as being an active member of his Church for a number years.
Then on November 19, 1967 in the First Christian Church St. Elmo, Wayne married Marsha Johana Waddell
In the community his activities included be an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he held numerous offices in the church. He was most proud of being a member of the Church choir both men and mixed members. Other memberships included the Lutheran Layman’s League, Mill Road Thresherman’s, County Line Sod Busters, Altamont Sportsman Club, Local #179 Teamsters, a 35 year member of the Altamont Volunteer Fire Department, and volunteered to deliver Meal’s on Wheels.
His hobbies included his most precious Oliver tractor collection, woodworking, camping and fishing, playing cards, gardening and perfected his wine making ability. Wayne was employed as a truck driver beginning in his earlier years delivering milk. He was still employed at his death by Direct Lines of Effingham, Illinois. Simply worded, Wayne just enjoyed working, his grandsons and his special companion Bandit Wayne, a faithful dog.

Daughter: Susan Denise Mellendorf Montrose, Illinois
and her children: Marshall Wayne and Clayton Jarrett Mellendorf
Son-in-law: Tim Mellendorf Dieterich, Illinois
2-Brothers: Earl T. (wife, Doris) Mueller Effingham, Illinois
Lloyd N. (Sandi) Mueller Greenville, Illinois
Sister: Janice (husband, Orville) Heiden Mason, Illinois
Brother-in-law: Robert Waddell Crest Hill, Illinois
Sister-in-law: Carolyn Turley Powell, Ohio
