Anna Harre, 91, of Brownstown, died at 6:25 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2015, at her home
with her family at her side.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at First Christian
Church, Brownstown with Kevin Bonifacius officiating. Burial will follow at Griffith
Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 9,
2015 at GiesekingClaggett
Funeral Home, Brownstown and for one hour prior to service
time at the church. Memorials may be made the First Christian Church, Brownstown,
American Cancer Society, or to the donor’s choice.
Mary Anna Harre was born on Friday, September 26, 1924 in rural Altamont, Effingham
County, Illinois to Noble Frank and Cora May (Heckman) Rush. She married Thureal E.
Harre, Sr. on Saturday, May 2, 1942 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death on
Thursday, February 9, 1989. She was a member of the First Christian Church,
Brownstown where she had previously served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a
homemaker and assisted on the family farm and orchard and was previously employed at
Heritage Home (Aperion) Care Center, St. Elmo. She was a past 4H
Leader and member
of Fayette County Home Extension.
She is survived by: sons, Thureal E. Harre, Jr. and Lloyd Harre both of Brownstown;
daughters, Nancy Pryor, Helen (William) Holman, Sheila (Jim) Pruett all of Brownstown,
Mary Stewart of Statesville, NC, Tammy (Kent) Woolsey and Teresa (Kent) Durbin both
of Vandalia; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 20 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and 2
grandchildren.
