Louis Haslett, 94, of Brownstown, died at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Aperion Care, St. Elmo, IL.
Louis K. Haslett was born on Thursday, June 2, 1921 to George W. and Iva M. (Aldridge) Haslett. He married Ulavon Fern “Bonnie” Walker on Friday, September 21, 1945. He is survived by his wife, sons, Larry (Libby) Haslett of Columbus, GA; Brad (Fan) Haslett of Collierville, TN and daughter Charlene (Steve) Case of Moweaqua, IL. A son, Gary preceded him in death in July of 2014. Also surviving are 12 grandkids, 19 great grandkids, 4 step great grandkids and 1 great great grandchild. In addition, he was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Louie was a lifelong resident of Brownstown, IL and a member of the Brownstown Christian Church where he served for years as an Elder. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He worked many years as a construction superintendent. In his retirement years you could find him at nearly every auction in the area. He worked diligently as long as his health allowed. He loved his family, church and the world God created. If you knew him well, you knew not to call him during Swap Shop or the Rush Limbaugh program.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the First Christian Church, Brownstown with Kevin Bonifacius and Shawn Case officiating. Burial will follow at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Visitation will be for two hours prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the Brownstown Christian Church.
