(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner says he’s sticking with Erika Harold as his candidate for Attorney General, despite what he’s calling a political ‘hit job.’ The governor told reporters in Chicago yesterday that he knows Harold to be a good person, and he doesn’t question her integrity. The questions came after a report last week that claimed Harold said back in 2000 that she’d rather see a baby placed with abusive parents than gay parents. Rauner, who is the state’s top Republican, said the report may be part of a political ‘hit job’ ahead of next week’s primary.
