(Springfield, IL) — Even though he’s not on the ballot, Governor Rauner is finding himself in the middle of a number of races because he’s delayed releasing his personal income tax this year. The change in practice is prompting Democrats to craft ads tying Rauner to Donald Trump who has also not released his taxes. Rauner’s office says he’ll release his returns after Tuesday’s elections, citing the need for additional filings. Rauner has used at least 30-million-dollars of his personal fortune in an effort to put more Republicans in the legislature to undercut the power of House Speaker Michael Madigan.
